I'm CJ, the founder, candle-maker, and owl-keeper behind it all. Ember & Owl is a Victorian botanical apothecary, a candlelit shop where hand-poured soy candles sit beside teas, curios, licensed wizarding treasures, and celestial oddments, all gathered into one cozy, story-rich world. It's built for the curious, the bookish, and the wild at heart.

This shop didn't come out of nowhere. I've spent most of my life creating experiences for other people. For about ten years I planned programs for kids and families, designing whole days of activities meant to bring people together. Then I spent three years at Universal Studios, right beside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where I learned every day what it feels like when a story becomes a place you can walk right into. Ember & Owl is where those two threads finally meet, a place of my own, built to feel like an escape.

Everything here is chosen or made with care. Our candles are poured by hand in small batches, inspired by nature and rooted in story. The treasures we carry are curated, not mass-picked, and when it comes to wizarding goods, we carry only officially licensed pieces, because doing it right matters.

This fall, we're opening our doors in Hillsboro, Oregon, a real, candlelit brick-and-mortar shop where you'll be able to browse, breathe it in, and one day soon, make something with your own hands in one of our workshops.
